Steady & Strong

Around a third of people aged 65 and over experience a fall each year, which can result in injury and loss of confidence. Since the pandemic lockdowns, many older people have reported feeling less steady on their feet or not being able to walk as far as they used to. Improving core strength and balance is a crucially important part of reducing the risk of a fall.

For anyone who would like to attend a regular class, Steady and Strong sessions for over 65s are gradually resuming across the county. The exercises are designed to underpin everyday activities and to safeguard against the risk of falling by improving muscle strength and stability. The sessions are led by instructors who are specially trained in this area.

For people who would like to exercise at home there are a wide range of resources available at Falls Prevention-Hampshire

The Network are pleased to be able to offer a new Task System database groups can choose to use to manage their client and volunteer details, and keep track of tasks being carried out.

Party Time!

One of the best things about volunteering is meeting new people and making new friends. Here is Petersfield Voluntary Care Group’s Summer Garden Party where the volunteers did exactly that! #PeopleHelpingPeople #PeopleMeetingPeople
