February 2025 Positive Energy Update

It’s time to bid farewell to the shortest month of the year and hopefully the colder weather as we look forward to a move towards spring and welcome a seasonal shift. We hope you too are enjoying more sunshine and noticing the spring flowers beginning to bloom.

The Positive Energy project has been both busy and exciting so far in 2025.

This month I have been working on creating engaging and informative materials focused on Positive Energy, including a 4 page booklet that provides more in-depth information around how to keep warm, save money and stay safe. We have some thermometer postcards in production that will be a useful tool in keeping your home at a healthy and comfortable temperature. These resources have been designed with feedback from Good Neighbours Group’s and are an aid to inspire sharing those lightbulb moments with your community. Stephen and I are always happy to send out any resources that you need.

Stephen has been busy, out and about delivering project news to groups in the community. On Valentine’s Day he visited the delightful Portchester Voluntary Care Group as part of their annual celebration lunch and AGM, those project flyers he took with him were snapped up, enabling the the Positive Energy message to be shared with everyones friends, family and neighbours. The following week he was off to Woolston Friendship Club, a project of Communicare in Southampton, and focussed on one-to-one chats with the participants. Later in the month he was off to the Befrienders at Odiham Cottage Hospital to run an information session with the GNN volunteers, whose befriending approach is concentrated on developing established relationships with clients.

On Wednesday 9th April there will be an information session to inspire “lightbulb moments”

Venue: St Luke’s Church, Hedge End, SO30 2US

Time:  2pm – 3:30pm.

Stephen and I look forward to seeing you there!

Until next month,
Siobhan
