Communicare in Southampton raises over £1,800 with Tree of Light campaign
Communicare in Southampton have raised more than £1,800 with their 16th annual Christmas Tree of Light campaign (December 2024).
They held switch-on events for their festive trees festooned with lights – each one commemorating a lost loved one – at events on November 30 and December 1, and sponsorship is still open until December 31.
Manager Annie Clewlow said: “All the funds raised will go towards Communicare in Southampton, which extends a helping hand to members of the community in our city experiencing challenging circumstances. We are here to help people live, rather than exist.
“But this is more than just a fundraiser for us, as our Tree of Light also provides a valuable public service for those who wish to remember and include those they have lost, including their pets, in their Christmas giving.”
Communicare in Southampton is part of the Hampshire-wide Good Neighbours Network. Its leader, Karen Jordan, said ‘congratulations to all the team at Communicare in Southampton for the ongoing success of this poignant event. Your ideas and enthusiasm are an inspiration across the wider network, and we wish you continued success in your fundraising activities‘‘.
